DC24 REVERSIBLE WAND
The reversible wand with its handle is an innovative idea but there are only two positions to adjust its length, minimum or maximum.
No intermediate position is possible which makes the vacuum-cleaner quite uncomfortable to use by a small size person.
It is not even explicitely written in the notice and I had to phone the customer service to discover that.
Another good design blotched by wrong ergonomics - variability in the size of users was forgotten !
I guess that the next version of DC24 will have this corrected should someone at Dyson drawing boards ever bother to read Amazon customer reviews!


Excellent Machine
A well designed and engineered piece of equipment, except for the tools. (Our old DC04 has now been consigned to my workshop, for dust collection duties.) The drawback I have found is the so called combination tool. (Compromises rarely work!) To me it's neither a brush, nor a crevice tool. Fortunately the tools off an old Panasonic cleaner fit the Dyson hose, so I can use that brush over the tops of pictures, books and other high places, and also the crevice tool for tight spots. A great pity the tools off the DC04 do not fit the DC24.

Very good cleaner
This is a very good vacuum, the ball makes it easy to move although needs time to get used to! It is really light and easy to carry. I like the fact that you can retract the handle so it's easy to store. The easy emptying function is brilliant so quick and i haven't yet emptied it on the floor. There are things wrong with it. You really need a thin attachment for edges of carpets etc.The chunky one that comes with it is not good enough and to pay extra for one is not on when the vacuum is expensive. The hose is not long enough, the wire is also not long enough and i only have a 2 bed house but i have to change plug position half way through cause it won't reach round the whole room.The on/off button takes some getting used to you have to hold it down for a few seconds for it to stay on and remember to turn the brushes off if there is any chance of getting anything caught in it like ends of rugs or shoe laces! BUT overall i love it.

Nice design, Cool product, but...
I had great delivery from Amazon. I also want to summarize my experience with the product. I have allergies so I needed a HEPA filter and this vacuum seemed to fit my needs in a small apartment.

Why I liked the Dyson:
Quick next day delivery from Amazon (but I had to pay extra)
Small size
Cool design
Cord does not tangle
HEPA filter works well (however I'm worried that, from the instructions, it may clog too quickly and required manual cleaning instead of just buying a new one).

Why I do not like this product:
Suction is not good (seems like a basic requirement for a vaccum)
Lack of accessories (buying extra tools is very expensive)
When compared to to products I have owned in the past, this is over-priced
Mostly plastic parts that do not always engage (sometimes I try to put it upright and it doesn't lock)
Small container for dirt that needs to be emptied frequently.
Does not feel "sturdy"

Who is this product best for:

I think this product is good for someone who lives in a very small space and no pets. It works well on tile but doesn't always pick up kitchen debris that I think it should.

Compared to vacuums I have bought in the past, this one is very expensive and doesn't have enough suction.

So light to carry upstairs

Splendid machine, such a clever design, great manoeuvrability and suction (that must be comparable to a cylinder machine despite its compact size). Minor downside is that small cylinder obviously requires more frequent emptying but this not such as to be a problem in cleaning 5 bedrooms upstairs. The suction wand is also lighter and easier to use than on the larger upright Dyson that we also have. Improvements? Now if the upright section could go even flatter as to slide further under a bed...... All in all, I doubt if this machine can be bettered anywhere.
