Fresh Bread in the Morning from Your Bread Machine Reviews
good book
A good book very well explained for the novice breadmaker user.
Looking forward to trying many more different breads.
Brilliant breadmaker
We previously had a Morphy Richards that we were very happy with, so when it broke down irreparably after 10 years I was worried about getting a different make, but the Panasonic SD-254 got such good reviews we decided to risk it. It's brilliant! I make even 100% wholemeal loaves on the 1h55min cycle and it turns them out wonderfully. The paddle has never stuck in the loaf. I also make delicious cakes from the recipe booklet and wouldn't be without the machine now.
Fresh Bread In The Morning by Anette Yates
I saw his recommended on one of the forum's I belong to.
I used to watch Anette Yates on one of the shopping chanels I thought I'd give it a try.
It's a great little book and the recipes are great too but be aware that they are NOT all cooked in the bread machine, some are prepared by the machine (which takes the hard work out of it) then removed to be cooked in the oven.
Book to buy BEFORE you buy your bread machine
Annette Yates put considerable effort into the writing of this book, being careful to try out her recipies on many different bread machines to ensure the best possible results. Her troubleshooting section at the back is invaluable and her tips on what to look for in a bread machine to ensure you get what you want from it are something you should certainly read before making your purchase.
I'm gradually working my way through her recipies. I found the recipes that came with my Panasonic machine quite adequate for the wholemeal loaf that was my main reason for getting it.....and then I tried Ms. Yates'
recipe. Her tips on using Vitamin C powder or lemon juice made quite a difference. She takes you back to the basics of bread making, telling you why you need the ingredients suggested and when and where you can make substitutions and omissions without getting a poor result.
One thing to note. Bear in mind the temperature of the ingredients when baking in the winter months. Yeast doesn't like cold water, it should always be tepid.
Useful addition
Also the Panasonic breadmaker came with an excellent range of recipes, this book is a useful addition and gives additional hints on making your breadmaker more versatile.
