Very happy with my purchase
I am realy happy with my new laptop. It is fast and the battery power is not bad. I would/have recommended this to friends and family.

An excellent laptop
There are many variables in putting together a laptop and in this model I think that Samsung have got a lot of things right. It is solidly made and gives every appearance of being reliably built to last. It opens without a catch; you just open the lid as it were. There is slight give in the keyboard but in practice it is firm enough and the keys are a pleasure to type with. The function key combinations for sound and brightness level are easy to learn. The item has Windows 7 which gives a very pleasant laptop experience; just as Apple Mac is getting too sophisticated for its own good the new Windows arrives to give some good seamless items, a prime example being its ability to find the correct driver for your printer (you have to give it a minute or so first time but after that its all loaded). The large hard drive on this machine is very satisfying for loading all of your music collection and photos. By the way the hard drive is divided into two drives and at the first loading you can determine how large each will be. It gives the impression that this is not changeable but here the new Windows comes to your aid with its hard drive manager. But for detailed help contact the Samsung help desk; you can actually speak to a real person without great delay and they can talk you through it; this is a great credit to this company. Before buying browse the web with Bing or Google as I found it much cheaper than at Amazon.

Stylish, well built, easy to use laptop
There is a lot of choice of laptops around the ~£500 price bracket. I was looking for a laptop with a good screen, decent spec and most importantly a keyboard that doesn't feel like its made of sponge or a trackpad that doesn't require several taps to register. After trying out similar offerings from the likes of HP, Dell, Toshiba, Acer it became apparent the Samsung was far superior in the screen and keyboard department.
The laptop looks stylish with its dark red lid and silver "brushed aluminium" palm rest. Its lightweight and portable and performs admirably for my usage - web, email, office 2010, itunes etc. There a few similar Samung models with bigger screens or less memory so look around for the best model/price point for you. If you're looking for a sub £500 laptop that doesn't look cheap and you can comfortably use then you'll do a lot worse than the Samsung

It does what it says on the tin !!!
This is an excellent laptop and my granddaughter is very pleased with it. Should come in useful when she goes to Oxford later this year

Screen too wide
I don't know if it's just me but the screen seems to bee to wide to me so that it is impossible to view the photos that are online properly. The picture simply does not fit the screen.
I would rate the computer as average, considering the short life of the battery - which is only 2 hours.
