to put it short: winter bad summer awesome:P product works
please read all for a complete understanding of how these jars function, I have worked them in every weather, in dark winters they dont work, in fall a little(1-5minutes) in spring and summer they light up for hours..
design is very plain and very easy to understand, the solar panel mightve been put better under clear glass on the outside of the jar lid, the colour changing is really awesome, I went ahead and purchased 2 sets of these, gave one amber to my big brother, one colour changing to my parents, one colour changing to someone else(i have forgotten who) and one amber I put on my grandmothers last restingplace.
In the winter these just dont work(atleast in denmark they dont, no light ever in those months whether kept outside or in or in a light place or under false light)
In Spring these start working for a good hour at dusk, very very pretty when they light up, much lighter than i expected.
In summer they can glow for alot longer, they just need to be turned off for a day or two every now and again to really sap up the sun.
All in all, these are very affordable, shipping rates overseas make it a bit more ofcourse, but still a purchase worth getting, and if i may suggest, if you want the most light from these keep them on your balcony/garden or porch, as inside they dont light up as long as what i put here.
Dissapointing glow
This was suppose to give a little glow through the night in my back yard whilst smokers were out there! Sadly I have only had a 1 second glow from it when i turn it on! I have had it charging with the sun for over a month and still the results are the same!
Solar Jars
I already have a larger solar jar, and was tempted by the colour changing of one of these solar jars. These smaller jars do work, but not for nearly as long as the bigger jar purchased elsewhere. At this time of the year (winter) they last minutes rather than hours. However, the colour change does work and is beautiful, while it lasts. I am hoping that in the longer summer months that both jars will hold the sun for a lot longer.
